eye brow guy
i went window shopping at orchard yesterday, and i was stopped by this guy who asked me whether i wanted my eyebrows trimmed. He was talking really fast(i figured that he was nervous),something about sincerety and he showed me a few of the newspaer reports written about him...i tried to reject him politely, but he persisted.i agreed in the end...as i followed him to the side of paragon,i felt a little scared,i mean what if he was a pervert?oh god! lots of what ifs ran through my mind...i followed him anyway, curious and scared.he then began plucking my eyebrows...sounds pervertic rite?the way i say it... he asked me lots of questions but i didn't really capture all of them ,i just want it to be over, Fast.i was scared....but then he sound so sincere, and i guess make up,is a sort of art too rite?i admire his guts...i mean to do a job like this...and he has been doing it since 2001...i was frightened la though....after the whole thing i paid him and hurried away(to the bathroom). He did quite a good job actually...i like how my eyebrows look....i paid 10 bucks for the job...but there is not going to be a second time..ah yoh!i mean two words Ah Yoh! i think if li ern is reading this she would probably just ring me and yell...haha...
however i heard something that the eyebrow guy said that caught me thinking....
our conversation is as follows
eyeb"so which school are you from"
sihui"erm temasek poly"
eyeb"oh?which course?"
sihui"design ,moi(moving images)"
eyeb"oh..what's that ?"
sihui " animation...yah."
eyeb"oh are you sure you're really good at it?"
end-.^
if the same guy asked me the same question a year ago,i'll probably get mad ,i'll probably think that he looks down on me and go on and on with my inferior talk.however now,i actually thought about it.perhaps change in me,is resulted from a year in design school, most of my lecturers are this direct, but it's whether they put it in a nice way,or they just say it straight in your face(if you have sloppy work(the can't be bothered type),or your work just didn't meet their expectations). Thus when he made such a remark ,i took it calmly.it's true you know...though i'm not out in society yet..but through my perception,i can tell that in the design industry ,you have to work really hard and run at full speed.i think it's really competetive too...now i'm in poly..we are actually training for society whether for work or relations with people....so i guess now..i have to gambatte, improve my skills..and get rid of bad points such as messiness.I started writing recently..and i'm planning to improve on it..alot..so by the time i finished my studies..i'm ready for society...
i'm also planning to take a part time job..heard they are offering at school, going to try out..i mean though i may not be able to do designing ,at least i get to see real designers at work..will gain lots of experience...mmm...
as people relations it's another complicated subject,oh well i guess i'm worrying too much for now....
the bottom line is gammbatte! must improve improve improve!
